Why Y&R is the Best Soap on TV
Young and the Restless is what soaps are all supposed to be about. Families their lives and loves and professions. This soap never forgets its core families and the people who started it all. It is so real and satisfying. Stories are about the Abbots and Newmans and Chancellors and the Winters and Baldwin families and their trials and tribulations( this used to describe soaps and is right on)...their rivalries, and jealousies and passions and deceits. It is brilliantly written and acted and satisfies every expectation you may have . Strong men and beautiful independent women, weak men and simpering women and kids who aggrivate and delight.
Peter Bergman as Jack Abbot is my favorite, handsome, gentlemanly,strong and a little devious he is a true soap hero and villain all rolled into one. Love Him!
Jeanne Cooper as Katherine Chancellor is a totally classy Matriarch , business woman extroardinairre, mother and grandmother, heroine of the first order she is one awesome person.
These are just 2 of the fine actors associated with Y&R and my advice is to tune in and see for yourself. til next time......

Pet Peeves about GH
My pet peeves about GH
I am going to start with the soap that frustrates me most and that is GH. I have watched GH almost from it's start and am so disillusioned by what is happening to this show. What once was a show about Doctors and the Hospital they worked in, is now just a vehicle for mob violence.
While I enjoyed the years of Robert Scorpio and Luke Spencer fighting the bad guys with mob ties the good guys were the central figures. Now the show revolves around 2 main characters sonny corinthos, jason morgan. Very rarely is their a scene one of them does not dominate. It is a caricature of mob life, since these two are heroes(in their writers mind) and vile murdering criminals and the moll who will do anything for them.
Women are written as mindless, weak bimbo's who cannot resist the murdering locusts who blacken Port Charles. Even Smart, Well Educated and Classy Women can not resist them and become stuttering fools and are easily seduced by these immoral killers. Okay I guess you can tell I totally dislike mobsters and the women who love them. Especially since the Police are treated as jokers and anyone on the side of law and order and decency are always on the losing end of story lines.
The core families are rarely seen , unlike other soaps who honor their major families by giving them more than walk ons, GH forgets it's past and glorifies these criminals.
There is much I like about this show and will surely write about it but right now this is my major problem with GH a show I used to consider my favorite soap.
Now My favorite is Y&R which will be my next blog. Stay tuned . :)
